Occupation description

General Plumbers are responsible for installing and repairing water, drainage, gas, and sewerage pipes and systems, excluding water-based fire protection systems. 

The relevant qualification for this role is the CPC32420 Certificate III in Plumbing.

Their duties include:

  • Reviewing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan plumbing system layouts and determine necessary materials.
  • Installing hot and cold water systems and related equipment.
  • Designing and setting up sanitary plumbing and water supply systems, including pipes and fixtures.
  • Constructing and installing soil and waste stacks.
  • Setting up sewerage and effluent pumping equipment and disposal systems.
  • Installing underground drainage systems and related support structures.
  • Fitting, maintaining, and fixing gas mains, piping systems, appliances, and equipment connected to fuel gases.
  • Creating and fitting metal roofing, rainwater goods, and flashings.

    Stage 1

    Stage 2

    Technical Assessment
